Data rights and requests
This page explains how a reader can ask Loreus what personal information it holds and what action may be available. The process applies to contact messages, accessibility reports, correction correspondence, and limited technical records connected with the website. Reading an article does not normally require personal information. Requests are handled with care and reasonable identity checks.
1. Access
You may ask whether Loreus holds information connected with your name, email, or message. We will describe the categories, purpose, recipients, and retention period where reasonably available. Some technical information may not be linked to a person. Access can be limited where disclosure would expose another person’s private information or compromise security.
2. Correction
If a contact record is inaccurate, explain the specific correction and provide enough context to locate it. We will update the record when the request is reasonable and lawful. Editorial statements are handled through the correction process rather than silently changing correspondence. We may keep a dated note of what changed for accountability.
3. Deletion
You may ask Loreus to delete personal correspondence when it is no longer needed. Routine messages are normally retained for up to 24 months and correction records up to 36 months. Deletion may not be immediate where a legal, security, or accountability reason requires preservation. We will explain any refusal or partial response.
4. Restriction and objection
You may ask us to pause a use while accuracy, purpose, or legal basis is reviewed. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest where your circumstances make that appropriate. Optional cookie processing can be rejected through the banner and browser controls. We do not require a reader to accept analytics in order to browse.
5. Portability
Where applicable and technically reasonable, we can provide personal information supplied directly by you in a structured form. This right does not normally cover anonymous usage patterns or editorial analysis. A request should identify the information sought and a safe delivery method. We will not send personal data to an unverified address.
6. Verification
We may ask for information that confirms the request belongs to the person concerned. We do not ask for unnecessary identity documents and will redact details not needed for verification. If identity cannot be confirmed, we may provide general information instead of account-specific material. Verification records are deleted after the request is closed.
7. Representatives
A representative may write for a reader when they provide appropriate authority. Guardians should explain their relationship and the reason for the request. We protect the privacy of other people mentioned in a message. Where a request involves a dispute, we may ask for clarification before acting.
8. Timing
Loreus aims to acknowledge a clear request within 10 working days and normally respond within 30 days. Complex or repeated requests may require additional time allowed by applicable law. We will explain an extension rather than leaving a reader without an update. There is no charge for a normal request.
9. Complaints
If the response does not resolve the concern, reply with the original request and the part you dispute. We will arrange an editorial or privacy review separate from the initial handling where possible. You may contact a competent Indonesian or other relevant privacy regulator. Raising a concern will not affect access to Loreus articles.
10. Contact and review
Send a request to Loreus, Jl. Thamrin No. 8, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Jakarta 10310, Indonesia, or call +62 21 6815 3047. Include the page, date, category of request, and preferred reply route, without unnecessary sensitive details. This procedure was reviewed on 13 October 2026. It will be reviewed again when privacy obligations or site tools change.
